Tea Talk core
CoRE Projects
In my years as a social worker, I’ve held space for raw, crushing grief, buried trauma, and quiet despair. I’ve looked into the eyes of mothers, youth, and workers carrying unbearable emotional burdens, wanting so desperately to heal—but forced to suffer in silence because they simply couldn't afford help. It breaks my heart every single time. Mental health care and trauma healing should never be a privilege reserved for those who can pay for it.
I founded Tea Talk CoRE to ensure that no matter how dark life gets, no one has to walk through their valley alone. Through our Pay-It-Forward Counseling Fund, your generosity directly subsidises life-changing trauma support, professional therapy, and grief care for individuals and families in underserved communities who have nowhere else to turn. When you give, you aren't just funding a session—you are giving a wounded soul a safe place to breathe, to weep, and to reclaim their life. You are sending a powerful message: "Your pain matters, I see you and you are not forgotten."
Please, partner with us today. Let’s lift each other up and bring hope and healing to our community - One Story at a Time.
Tell Me YOur Story
A 2-Tier Crisis Intervention PrograM
Every story deserves to be heard, especially during its darkest chapters. Tell Me Your Story is Tea Talk CoRE’s flagship two-tier crisis intervention program designed to ensure no individual in emotional distress has to suffer alone.
By bridging immediate community care with professional counseling, we create a seamless safety net for individuals in crisis:
How the Two-Tier Model Works
-
Tier 1: Immediate Community Intervention
When someone in the community is experiencing acute emotional distress, our trained "Tea Talkers"— trained peer emotional first responders—step in on the ground. They offer a safe, grounding presence, providing immediate emotional first aid to de-escalate the crisis and help the individual regain composure in a compassionate, non-judgmental space.
-
Tier 2: Guided Professional Care
Once the individual has stabilised, the Tea Talker gently guides them toward long-term healing. With warm encouragement, they help the supported individual book a follow-up appointment with a professional counselor at Tea Talk CoRE for ongoing therapy, guidance, and structured care.
"From a comforting word in a moment of panic
to professional care on the road to recovery:
we walk with you every step of the way."
Let's Talk
Behind every crisis is a person who simply needs someone to care. While Tea Talk CoRE directly serves individuals in deep distress through its dedicated counseling initiative, Tell Me Your Story, we know that community support begins much earlier—right in our everyday spaces. That’s where Let’s Talk comes in.
Let’s Talk is an outreach training program created to empower everyday community members to step up as Peer Emotional First Responders. In moments of sudden grief, overwhelm, or emotional distress, people rarely reach out to a counselor first—they turn to a friend, colleague, or neighbour. This program prepares you to be that safe, grounded presence when it matters most.
We invite passionate, empathetic individuals to join Let’s Talk—an outreach training initiative designed to equip everyday community members with the tools to become peer emotional first responders.
